Genie47 1st Gear October 26, 2004 Share October 26, 2004 Screw them lah! It is the money to renew the road tax. In other words, you fork out the money for the road tax. The premium above the road tax amount is payment for services to run to LTA to renew the road tax. Tok here tok there, call it admin charge.

Lufu 1st Gear October 30, 2004 Share October 30, 2004 buying second hand car is literally walking on mine field. If you are lucky, emerge alive (saving money), unlucky, lose a limb or so. Last time when I brought second hand car, they got those hidden cost like Admin fee, processing fee, transaction fee. Typically $500-1000 in total. And its never fun dealing with hooligans. Before you put down the deposit they are all angels. After deposit, became the devil.

Guyver 1st Gear October 31, 2004 Share October 31, 2004 So far... I got a fren that I know well from Army days that usually settle everything for me.. when I get my 2nd hand car from him.... yes... there are some standard fee which I know I have to pay... but he'll explain what those are.... and if can take out... he'll take it out for me also... but yet I dun expect that the car i get from him will be the cheapest... but so far the cars are generally problem free... Elina Neutral Newbie November 3, 2004 Share November 3, 2004 if the dealer not charging u any admin fee, most likely he already build into your purchase price. for my current 2nd hand car, the dealer insisted on charging the admin fee, say cannot waive one. therefore, i bargain with him on the purchase price. in the end, quite satisfied with the price i got. the 2nd hand car mrkt is quite bad now, so bargain all u can, just walk away if the dealer not willing to lower the price. ↡ Advertisement
