Hello guys...

I drive a 2-year old Atos...

From the day I got my car, I notice there's a ticking sound after I shutdown the car's engine...

Does anyone know what's the cause?

Thanks...

best rgds,

Benji

should be normal, bro.

I get that sound too. Think it's the piston heads and cam shaft winding down. Unless I am wrong.

Wah Bros,

So many theories...

But I think I'll buy the idea that the exhaust components are cooling off...

Actually on some cars you can even hear the ticking even when the car is operational. Just wind down your window and listen carefully.

Nothing wrong if your car doesn't explode....laugh.gif....you can be relieved knowing you're not sitting within an explosive device....laugh.gif

No Al-Kaeda's around Singapore... I hope...

On a serious note, I'll wind down my window later on my way home and try to pick up that sound...

Hmm.. Dun you know everytime you start engine, you are causing thousands of explosions per second ???

Sitting in a metal cage, with 50 litres (or so) of highly flammable liquid, running on a device whose primary objective is to ignite the liquid in a pre-determined sequence, so as to cause continuous and powerful explosions, driving metals to move at high speeds and with high power..

And you still think it is safe ?? haha

Its due to the thermal contraction of metals in your engine bay. Nothin to be worried about. Many makes and models have this too.
