Lukie102 Clutched October 1, 2004 Share October 1, 2004 Place: Starsauto Pte Ltd, Satellite Service Centre Mobil Petrol Station 145 Alexandra Rd S(159925) Small Mobil petrol station along Alexandra Rd near to Delta Swimming Complex What happened and what I see 1. Arrived at around 1+++ to 2pm (must drive into the petrol station) 2. Saw 2 SA staff, 1 customer service officer and 1 mechanic. They are using their own SA staff. 3. Place very small. Only 2 servicing bay. 4. Proceed to check my car. DAMN!! SA staff pointed that I have 4 small dents on rear left passenger dr instead of the 2 that I knew 5. Took out the cxxxxxe engine oil and oil filter that I bought. (they accepted so I guess SA is only using the plc and not mobil's service). 6. Was told that it'll take an hr. 7. Went for a drink at market nearby and went back. Lingered at the servicing bay to watch the mechanic service my car. 8. Paid $3.78. 9. Left at around 2.45pm cos I skipped the car wash part. What they do? 1. Normal car servicing. 2. No touch-up paint, no balancing etc. 3. They will just wipe your engine bay. Car wash is sub-contracted to the car wash pple @ mobil station. 4. I was told this is a temporary place for a year until next year Jun. They may be looking at other places after this. Who to call Sukaimi Bin Pardi 96180496 (fat malay guy previously at Ubi) Parts I bought oil and air filter from Song Yi at $4.50 and $10 respectively. SA's charging at $4.90 and $11. ↡ Advertisement

Genie47 1st Gear October 1, 2004 Share October 1, 2004 Yes change plugs at 10k is best. Normal copper/nickel/iron plugs cannot last more than 10k even if the manual says they can.
Sgrac3r Neutral Newbie October 1, 2004 Share October 1, 2004 they do have any machine there why bother to start a service centre? crazy SA, where is thier basic "reputation"? don't ever go there, wasting our time & $ only? although 5k sercing is free, also don't waste like that mah. Genie47 1st Gear October 1, 2004 Share October 1, 2004 OK let us go to the Opel forums to get lobangs on independant Opel service centres.
Guest Aveo_powered Neutral Newbie October 1, 2004 Share October 1, 2004 No lah, I think SA is training their "rookie" mechanics there... Lesson 1: Oil & filter change.
Ultraman Neutral Newbie October 1, 2004 Share October 1, 2004 Err... Genie47, I have an ex-colleague who drove an Astra 1.4L. After owning the car for about 2 years or so, he sold off the car and boycott the brand. Why? Cause the service competency and courtesy level of Opel is HORRIBLE!. From what he described to me of the things he went through at their service centre, I think SA is not as bad as we think.
