Hi All,

I heard there is a new brand on tyre named "Maxis" on the market.

Made in Taiwan & Thailand. Supposed to be good low noise & good grip in wet & dry.

Anybody heard about it yet? Better yet, anybody tried it???

Tihs brand in sg since late 2004 but not heard of. Spelling was slightly off though.

Seems it is getting more popular in OZ.

Anybody uses this tire here? What's the comments on it?

Thanks for the link.

I wanted to try this Maxxis in 2004, but since I got no real feedback then, I didn't try.

Maybe if they prove good, I might get them the next time. [drivingcar]

Agreed. If u noticed the date I posted (1st post) was 2004.

My tire shop told me he was agent for maxxis way back then. Tried to get me to try but I dare not as no info on them back then.

always a low rumbling sound....but im satisfied with the tires...came new together with this 14 yr old car i bought....i would say the agent got a great tire :)

i would say the trade-off for grip is worth the noise!

OK. I don't remember which model he wanted to sell me but he said was quiet & also had good grip.

Of course he didn't mean grip like for track but more than enough for normal driving.

So u say it's noisy. R u comparing it with a previous tire of same size on the same car?

If so, what tire was used earlier?

unfortunately no, so while my judgement may not be accurate, it really squeals alot. mine is Maxxis PA-1, supposed to be for mid-sized saloons and luxury cars.

im comparing the noise n grip with Dunlop on a Proton Gen-2 (in-law's car) and Bridgestone on a Honda Jazz (dad's car).

well, best judgement is for u to test one yourself, all my personal opinions only!
