from 4th on the grid, alonso leaped to 2nd (overtook MS and Montoya) after the first corner. .... he then overtook Barricelo (1st on the grid) few laps later and led the race until he pitted short while ago..

Rubens did very well to win the race, though he only led in the early and closing stages. Some more he had 3 pit stops, 1 more than most of the front-runners! MS showed his stuffs by catching up from 15th place.

Pity Alonso, the track marshalls refused to help him push the Renault from the sand pit. bigcry.gif

Sigh... shows as much that there are only five posts in this thread [:p]

Ferrari it must be said made a fantastic comeback after Rubens had the wrong tyre choice at the beginning and Schumi spun. They both drove their hearts out, and I guess that can't be seen as bad.

Kimi Kimi... his engine failure (water leak) meant something like his eighth retirement this year! I think McLaren owe him big, especially since he's staying with them next year. Maybe he should join BAR, at least they manage to finish races [:|]

Then there's Button - all the hoopla about joining Williams next year saying they are the team to bring him a championship, and both he and team-mate Sato finish ahead of JPM and Pizzonia. Which of course begged the question from a scribe:

Q: Jenson, after a fantastic drive like that and BAR clearly showing they are clearly the second best team on the grid, do you not have any second thoughts about the decision you have made for next season?

Button: Erm, no.

Q: (That's better than a no comment I suppose!

Button: (Laughter) I answered it!

Thatz ferraris home track and they know the track like the back of their hand.

The 3 pit stop was really well done by them to come up with that. Its really a splash and dash.

But my favourite JPM disappoint me again.

What's interesting now is with the points, Trulli, Alonso and Monty separated by just 4 points (46, 45 and 42); and Kimi, DC and Sato another 5 (28, 24 and 23)...

Over at the constructors, it's just as interesting, with BAR and Renault at 94 and 91 pts respectively, and Williams and McLaren at 60 and 52 pts.

So if we discount the red cars, there's still a lot to play for! [bounce1]

Maybe there's more advertising money to be made from being in teams like Mclaren (endorse Merc cars and Tag watches) and Williams (endorse Bimmers and.. ummm... HP computers [laugh] ). BAR's publicity doesn't seem that good right? Button doesn't appear in many ads (if at all).

Do the drivers earn more endorsing products than the salaries paid by their teams?

Guess I won't really blame Button for wanting to switch teams, he's prob calculated that he makes lots more $$$ being at Williams than at BAR. Guess it shows that to attract good drivers, the team has to have a strong marketing strategy in addition to race strategy.

But hor WRC no live pictures leh, always must wait till Tuesday for it to be shown on AXN. And the camera does not pick up everything. Mostly in car camera. [thumbsdown][thumbsdown]

F1 different, got in car and chase camera. [thumbsup][thumbsup][thumbsup]

Somemore F1 races finish in 2hrs. WRC, 3 days then know the result.

If WRC got all the camera action and live feed then everyone will definately switch to WRC. Where r the sponsers!!!!!!!!!

But when the car overturn or skid into the woods cant see the real action from 3rd person view.

More camera views and live broadcast will bring in the sponsers.
