Tito00 Clutched September 9, 2004 Share September 9, 2004 Hi guys, Just bought the broquet B30 from Astralee as he just sold his car. How much will the instalation be and how to know whether a Broquet has been used for 400,000km or for how long a distance? He had told me he bought it for first hand and had used for about 50,000km. So it would be best not to cut the original fuel line and so how do we install the Broquet then? Went to a mechanic and he told me that it is best not to install it as it will damage the fuel pump, how true is that??? Hope that experts down there can advise! :) thanks ↡ Advertisement

Tito00 Clutched September 10, 2004 Author Share September 10, 2004 So did u get ur original fuel hose cut?? If not, what other alternatives are there as i don't want my warranty to be void. Is there any good mechanic to recommend so that there won't be any fuel leakage! Thanks!
Biccat Neutral Newbie September 10, 2004 Share September 10, 2004 Of course, it has to be cut. But I never have problems with the warranty probably because I didn't have any issues. Honestly, if you really want to play it safe, no mods until the expiry of your warranty but how many of us really wait until the expiry.
Mojoe Neutral Newbie September 10, 2004 Share September 10, 2004 nope, it does not need to be cut... some workshops have those hoses to connect... the one i went to did just that it's not so much of warranty as well... what if they didn't cut it properly? most stockists don't stock fuel hose and you will be stuck... Jamesgetz 4th Gear September 10, 2004 Share September 10, 2004 (edited) sorry to pour cold water here... 2 of my friends (corolla G9 and accent) had it but no noticeable improvement at all. concurs with Genie47's comments Edited September 10, 2004 by Jamesgetz
Mojoe Neutral Newbie September 10, 2004 Share September 10, 2004 don't need to cut and better don't cut... just need to find a workshop that has those hose to connect... I went to one at AMK autopoint... can't remember the name now call universal?
Biccat Neutral Newbie September 10, 2004 Share September 10, 2004 It really depends on your ride. No cutting is the best. However, if there is space constraint or you don't want to have your hoses snaking inside your bonnet, you can either choose to cut it or replace it. Biccat Neutral Newbie September 10, 2004 Share September 10, 2004 That makes 3 persons, including myself who didn't feel any real improvement. However, there may be others who felf otherwise. Let them speak up.
Tito00 Clutched September 10, 2004 Author Share September 10, 2004 (edited) Hmm..so is there any gd mechanic in the east that could do it and not resulting in the original fuel hose from being cut and not cause any future fuel leakage! So it does not have any effect on the fuel consumption? It will spoilt the fuel pump of the car cos i was told it will by one mechanic.. Well Im sorry but I too dont have any success stories on broquet but it does allow you to pump 92 octane petrol even if ur car requires a minimum of 95. So can save in this aspect. Cheers! Tito00 Clutched September 11, 2004 Author Share September 11, 2004 Went to a couple of mechanics and including Mcwell. All of them would need to cut the original fuel hose which will definitely void the warranty. However had read previous post on Broquet from other fellow users that some of the mechanics would not cut the original fuel hose, could someone do answer my doubts and do give me some recommendation of mechanics! Thanks! :)
