XLR8 1st Gear September 3, 2004 Share September 3, 2004 Hi all, was wondering whether those fuel magnets like Super FuelMax and Calski help to reduce the fuel consumption for Octavias? Notice the best consumption I can get is at 9km/litre. Any bro's care to share? ↡ Advertisement
Lightspeed Clutched September 3, 2004 Share September 3, 2004 Don't think any of these things work for any car But I still have a broquet in my car though Very contradicting to my statement I admit, but that's about the only thing I would've tried though ... got it cheap 'cos it was a used set
Virus 2nd Gear September 3, 2004 Share September 3, 2004 I'm using Broquet & Magfuel. Before was 9.5km/l, after is 10.5km/l (progressively). And that was after upgrade rim from 15" to 17" at the same time.
Lightspeed Clutched September 3, 2004 Share September 3, 2004 Wow... that's pretty good... my fc still sucks big time
Virus 2nd Gear September 3, 2004 Share September 3, 2004 Cannot compared, yours is 1.8 with a snail. BTW, maybe the new TFSI drink lesser.
Lightspeed Clutched September 3, 2004 Share September 3, 2004 ??? ... 1.8? who??? TFSi? ... Suppose to drink less ... Wonder what the new GolfV owners have to say
Virus 2nd Gear September 3, 2004 Share September 3, 2004 You not driving 1.8T meh?? Or may be I got mixed up with another SOGer. GolfV is using the FSI only. The T(urbo)FSI is currently on GolfV GTI and A3 Sportback.
Lightspeed Clutched September 3, 2004 Share September 3, 2004 Wonder how the new Octy RS would be FSiT is in production already?
Virus 2nd Gear September 3, 2004 Share September 3, 2004 (edited) New Octy RS will only release at end 2006. However, they already have some kit for new Octy. [inline "New Octy 3.jpg"] [inline "New Octy 4.jpg"] Yep! TFSI already use in A3 Sportback and new GTI. 2.0l output awesome 200bhp. Lightspeed Clutched September 3, 2004 Share September 3, 2004 Looks great! But 2006 is a long way to go ... by the time it reaches SG shores ...IF it reaches our shores anyway....it would be 2007 knowing CA
XLR8 1st Gear September 3, 2004 Author Share September 3, 2004 (edited) Wow, you mean you could get 10.5km/L using 17" rims? Thats damn good. Mine is only 9km/L. Sucks. Anywhere to purchase this Magfuel? Tks. Edited September 3, 2004 by Relak

Beanoyip Turbocharged September 4, 2004 Share September 4, 2004 I forgot to add that my model (2.0SLX) is diff from yours.. Whats your ride?
XLR8 1st Gear September 4, 2004 Author Share September 4, 2004 Thats even worse. Mine only 1.6 Ambient.
Beanoyip Turbocharged September 4, 2004 Share September 4, 2004 Maybe you should try accelerating hard.. maybe will improve FC?
Virus 2nd Gear September 6, 2004 Share September 6, 2004 Magfuel uses to sell at Homefix at around $90/-. Contain 2 pair in the box. Or you like to post in the classified under WTB, there may someone want to sell it 2nd hand. BTW, accelerate slowly from stop doesn't help in FC, you RPM ended up dragging too long in high RPM. You have to reach a certain RPM (for smooth gear up-shift) to benefit from the best torque curve.
XLR8 1st Gear September 6, 2004 Author Share September 6, 2004 Thanks for the info bro. But btw, you were saying accelerate slowly from stop doesn't help in FC, somewhere I read in Wheels mag, they were saying that accelerating gradually will improve fuel consumption. In this case, which is which? Just accelerate faster so that the gear will change faster or? Any tips? Sqeeze throttle? Thanks for taking time to answer. Cheers. ↡ Advertisement
