Thin spacer does not meant 100% SAFE. if the fitting is wrong also dangerous to run. the problem is not with the spacer alone . another issue is hub bolts . ↡ Advertisement

Thedream 3rd Gear February 26, 2011 Share February 26, 2011 many tyre shops and even car workshops should have. anyway, you're already on 4mm and you want to change to 3mm??? is that 1mm so significant???
Kungfu Clutched February 27, 2011 Share February 27, 2011 1mm??? could let my rims relay more on the nuts rather than spacer??
Boo_saa Neutral Newbie February 27, 2011 Share February 27, 2011 Spacer are fine as long as you customize it to fix your ride, and not those universal kind. MOst importance is that the spacer must come with a hub centric that fix perfectly on the wheels. FYI i am using a 30mm custom spacer on my ride. I think what you need to know is whether you have sufficient thread for your nuts. Anything more is unnecessary. At least 5 half-turns (or 2.5 full turns) is what one tyre shop boss told me. I am using custom-made 23mm front and 25 mm rear spaces on my honda for 5 years now. no problems at all. of course I had to roll my fenders to ensure enough clearance for tyres. infact used 20-30mm spacers for my previous rides as well without problem. partly aesthetics and partly better ride and handing with wider tracks. Hondas are usually front-heavy. won't that cause your ride to understeer even more?

Buying a quailty product may cost you more but the manufacturer conducted test and they will only sell you the proven or tested specification ( quality spacer maker will never supply spacer like 3-4 mm thickness ) why is it some after market spacer can sell such thinny spacer? you see carefully this product carry NO brand name. it means they are totally no responsibilty of the product they produced and sold. Make your own judgement and deicision. Just MHO ↡ Advertisement
