Hitman Neutral Newbie August 30, 2004 Share August 30, 2004 You're right. Spa is an amazing circuit, with the first sector all about straightline speed, and the second nothing but corners, not forgetting the up and down slopes; the cars really need to be set up well, and the drivers have to keep adapting to the changing conditions. So seeing how it's a drivers circuit, Kimi really aced Schumi this time, he was just amazing, toying with the pace during the Safety Car periods, and setting fastest laps right to the end. He was one hungry chap... like the commentators stated, it's hard to believe it's only his second Grand Prix win. I really miss the old Hockenheim Circuit .... the new one is nothing compared to the old circuit with super duper long straights

Seansene 1st Gear August 31, 2004 Share August 31, 2004 This was during the Safety Car period when they were warming up their tyres. Which also explains why the cars are so close to one another. Or maybe this seow behavious shows why Long Jaw lost the race

Yttrium Neutral Newbie August 31, 2004 Share August 31, 2004 So it's not his usual race start tactic of cutting across the track to block his rivals huh?
Seansene 1st Gear August 31, 2004 Share August 31, 2004 I think between trying to outstart Trulli and blocking Alonso, he got damn blur, and even DC (DCof all pp!!!!) got through. Kimi on the other hand kept setting lap records, even though he had trouble downshifting from early on. Had to rely on engine braking and clipping curbs to help slow down
