Genie47 1st Gear August 23, 2004 Share August 23, 2004 Anyone here has done it? Does it prevent the throttle body heating the air it is taking in. Or does it prevent your car from warming up properly? ↡ Advertisement
Saaber Neutral Newbie August 23, 2004 Share August 23, 2004 for certain car models, it prevent the car from warming up properly thus causing stalling or low rpm....

Jamesgetz 4th Gear September 8, 2004 Share September 8, 2004 (edited) hmmm... i think the intention of this mod is good but its effectiveness is limited. this is bcos the TB is made of mostly metal and it gets very hot even without the coolant, due to hot air and heat radiated from the engine block. just a suggestion... to make the mod truly effective, the TB will have to be thermally insulated/shielded Edited September 8, 2004 by Jamesgetz
Phochem Neutral Newbie September 8, 2004 Share September 8, 2004 yes, get a heat shield for the TB... http://www.doctorspeed.com/products/tb/

Esky Neutral Newbie September 8, 2004 Share September 8, 2004 I think carbureted engine also has this function (my Iswara does), but I'm thinking it may actually help with vapourising the fuel better, since with carburetors, the fuel sprayed out may not be as fine that of EFI engines. A little heat helps. ↡ Advertisement
