Wat car are you driving? If it is continental, I recommend AutoSpritze. Clean workshop, skilled and courteous labour and especially proficient in continental marques like Merc and VAG.

A number of VAG bros did their service there and were all praise. thumbsup.gif

There many so call specialist but without the right tools. Go to shops that have the brake bleeding tools either a vacuum assist or a pressure unit type

Quite surprise singapore is quite difficult to find a shop with all well equip. I have seen a shop in JB last time doing servicing, with this vacuum assist for brake bleeding, they also have a flushing for power steering fluid.

usually 1 year. and I wun save on it since the next thing to the tyre and brake pad is ur fluid. good fluid means a whole big deal of 1mm stopping, as I found out today. bummer... my reckless driving. me bad.. bad day, but no accident though.

It is a logical consequence due to ChengHu "Its The End" planner's mind set towards automotive technology eudcation. To those on top, the industry is dirty and therefore do not fixs into the country's developemnt master plan. Over the last two decades, Spore mechanics have been downgrade from a skillman position to part changer, many are living from hand to mouth and unwillingly have to accept labour charges as low as s$10.00 which is slighlty better than a sweeper who is paid s$5.00/hr. The new generation of so call mechanics now lack both hand and thinking skills.I do not forsee any inprovement within the industry due to another factor - the high rate of very new car being "slaugthering" in the name of COE & Green. With very few cars to service, many have to find alternative means to survive or retire early to stretch thier hard earn saving in Batam paradise island.

PS Ironically PC tech are paid very much more than mecahnics -and it is much eaiser to trouble shoot a desktop PC than to diagnose cars for direveablity problems. Many european cars are now equipped with Controller Area Network system that link as many as seven on-board computers together operating in real time. Try getting a grease monkey without the necessary knowlegde of computer LAN to trouble shoot the car problem is like asking a caveman to operate a typewriter.

Something is really wrong with this country. The social stratification created by our gahment is hurting us. We don't need mechanics. We need automotive expertise.

The society is heading for a "Caste Society" where the rich, powerful and people with the right connections and thier children apparently will always be assure of a high swiss living standard.

Without well trained auto tech , it's a pain in neck to drive sophicately designed cars in Spore. I always tell my siblings and friends the more computerised the car the more headaches and frustrations you will get. There is hardly any enjoy in owning such cars.

Without the support of car owners paying a reason market labour rate, and giving the due respect to auto techs, the auto service industry will never be able to provide professional services.

This is mainly the problem with our "foreign talent policy", with the inflex of cheap labour from the north, who wants to be a chief tech with $1.5k pay?
