Please remember that only Phillips Vision Plus and Blue Vision lamps are approved by LTA.

The rest of the so-called white lights are all not legal.

you sure its illegal, read this

http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onem...dification.html

Are halogen bulbs that produce whiter light allowed?

Besides HID headlamps, halogen bulbs that produce whiter light are also allowed. These bulbs are designed to filter out the yellowish spectrum, hence emitting a whiter light that helps the motorists to see what's ahead at night.

However, vehicle owners are advised not to use bulbs that exceed the recommended wattage rating by the vehicle manufacturer. They should also ensure that headlamps are properly aligned after replacing the bulbs to prevent glare that might distract other road users.

Only if they are fitted by the original equipment manufacturers. For after market devices, they have to be endorsed by these manufacturers. Till now, I have known of any manufacturers who have approved of such after market products.

hi,

Why Blue vision and vision Plus are approval only Cause they have the EC approval marking logo on their package. The rest of the Philip model like crytral vision and Xenon do not have the EC aprroval marking.

LTA state that:

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) requires all designs of vehicle lights to comply with the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Lighting) Rules. They must bear approved markings to show that they comply with internationally recognised standards, such as those adopted in the European Union countries, Japan and the United States. The lights must also conform to their illuminated colour and intensity.

For headlamps, the LTA requires every unit fitted on the vehicle to be capable of casting a white light to the front of the vehicle. The intensity and alignment of a headlamp must also be within the specified limits.

Is the bulb in the package only for the low beam? The high beam how ah? Also, do we need to do the alignement after changing?

H4 bulbs are having high & low beam inside a single bulb, just like the rear brake & red light bulbs. No, there's no need to do alignment as the mounting of the bulb's holder position is fixed nod.gifnod.gifnod.gif Alignment is done on the headlight housing & not the bulb holder wink.gifwink.gifwink.gif
