My first detailing attempt.

found abit of scuff marks and quite a bit of swirl marks and stone chips.

i think i got the wrong type of cloth and the detailer(me) CMI

 

but it did feel smooth with higlaze-88 on

 

something tells me i should go to the weekly w&w for advice instead

while waxing my ride

i suddenly caught a strong smell of jasmine and incense

gave me the chills just now, but it went away after awhile

Hi Ahliew,

 

Perhaps some soot particles were left over during washing? Washing really thoroughly can be a pain , esp prior to polishing/waxing. Perhaps the scratches were already there, it's just that with the washing, the scratches become more visible.

 

Polishing over several sessions should minimise it over time. :) Good luck!

also, not rite to do detailing at nite lah. sometimes, u need light to look at an angle to see whether u have applied the wax/polish evenly.

 

if urs is MSCP with lighting facilities, then ok lah.

Hi AhLiew,

 

For the scratches and marks, you might want to try using Meguiars Scratch-X or 3M Swirl Mark Remover [sMR]. It should help to minimise most of the marks on your paintwork. For the 3M SMR, there are 2 types, one for dark coloured cars, and the other for light coloured cars.

saw some wax spray ... is it easier to wax using such spray ?

Depends on what of wax spray it is. Some are actually used as a "top up" or "quick detailer". eg. Meguiars NXT Wax Spray is actually a similar to the NXT Wax but at a lower concentration as it is to be used as a quick detailer on days when you do not have the time to do the full application.

 

What was the brand of wax spray that you saw ?
