Are there any damage done if the steering wheel is turned to the extreme with force? :(

It happened to me quite a number of times and my heart aches.

Keep reminding myself to be more gentle when turning the steering but sometimes it just happens :(

It is very comforting to know that I am not damaging the steering wheel.

Like Dptm, I tend to oversteer. Really worried that I might damage something.

Phew!!!

you won't damage the steering wheel.... its just a round metal thing wrapped with leather or plastic...

....but you'll probably damage the steering rack....keep doing it and you'll bust a seal and find a puddle of power steering fluid under your car.

if your car doesn't have power steering, you'll probably damage your ball or rose joint (can't remember wat it's called)

....I cringe everytime I see someone turning the wheels to the extremem while stationary...even if its not my car

I spent 80 bucks on a steering rack rebuild kit to replace all the seals, started leaking again after two months, in the end had to fork out another 400 bucks to buy another junkyard steering rack to replace..... so far so good

if you want a bigger shock, try asking your authorised agent how much does a brand new steering rack costs

"will be more careful when turning the steering wheel"

Hi! there, Dptm,

Never turn your steering wheel to full-lock for too long. Damage to the pump seal if using power-steering & steering rack seals.

When the car is turning, it'd damage the CV-joints for FWD cars, always turn back a notch when it reach full-lock.

For power-steering cars parking too close to the kerb, you might touch the kerb when at full-lock, it'd damage the lower ball-joints of the front suspension.

Rgds
