David325 1st Gear August 12, 2004 Share August 12, 2004 well only way is to ask them to improve on their engine tech.
Kardachia Neutral Newbie August 12, 2004 Share August 12, 2004 and decrease price maybe?
Seansene 1st Gear August 12, 2004 Share August 12, 2004 Eh, how do you expect it to work? I mean, technically, it's not like releasing a software patch or service pack. If anything's done, existing owners will not get to see the fruits of the labour, you'd have to buy the next gen car...
Eliew Neutral Newbie August 12, 2004 Author Share August 12, 2004 Nothing ventured, nothing gain. What is it about e-throttle, cvt that do not deliver what they were supposed to deliver in terms of fc? If it could be rectified by tweaking some of the engine component, why not? Recall sensor problem was rectified, at a cost to the company of course. If no one officially 'complains', how do we expect Nissan to sit up and take notice? I wonder if similar situation arose in other countries where customers are more adequately protected? Were the customers' grievances addressed somehow? I suspect TCM is already aware of this problem due to the sporadic complaints from buyers of FL sunny. However, there is no one single consolidated front to take the case up to them and make them accountable.

Eliew Neutral Newbie August 12, 2004 Author Share August 12, 2004 They might .. once they know it's a group of disgrunted Nissan owners they are up against!
Eliew Neutral Newbie August 12, 2004 Author Share August 12, 2004 cant reply on behalf of hyundai owners then again, I am increasingly pixx at the low quality service, whether at shopping centres or food establishments or car showrooms, we are getting here as consumers and the fact we consumers are usually resigned to fate when our purchases do not quite meet up to the sales pitch and our expectations. Eliew Neutral Newbie August 12, 2004 Author Share August 12, 2004 yes .. bought nov last year. Thought the e-throttle and cvt thingy is going to help ..looks like a bunch of marketing hype. Overall, I am still quite happy with the car, just the FC and pickup (my car is stock - no plans to mod)
Bencts 2nd Gear August 12, 2004 Share August 12, 2004 my fl sunny can travel 500-550km or 13-14km/l before the re-fuel light came up. not that bad after all. it used to give me only 400-420km. tips:- heed john taylor's advice.
Vooth 2nd Gear August 12, 2004 Share August 12, 2004 FC is really very subjective and as has been oft repeated 'it's the driver, not the car' Over at the sunny forum, one forumner claims his sunny (manual) can travel to 600km on a full tank so it really depends on a lot of factors... Zacer Clutched August 14, 2004 Share August 14, 2004 agreed asking them to work on the FC they prefer to work on the driver driving style.
Vit4wd 1st Gear August 14, 2004 Share August 14, 2004 I have 1 simple solution to your problem. Don't ever buy another Nissan Sunny again. Or sell your current Sunny and buy a more fuel efficient car.
Eliew Neutral Newbie August 14, 2004 Author Share August 14, 2004 Apart from the FC, generally quite ok .. safety and reliability ok. Besides, Renault will hopefully bring improvement to the Nissan brand name. Wait and see lor. ↡ Advertisement
