.... Same thing for the Twister ducted cone filter I'm using, I seriously doubt the swirl effect induced can be maintained after the airflow passes through the cone filter. What do you think?

I think the swirl is meant for better flow through the filter element rather than for the swirl to continue after the filter element.

the other thing to think about it: it's so easy to implement a twister system to have a swirl effect going into the engine bay, so why do car manufacturers not incorporate it in the first place? It doesn't increase noise or have other negative effects, and it's cheap to manufacture (they prob have more then enough technology to be able to design fan blades).

The thing is such technology, be it Twister, Cyclone or Surbo, will only be felt when you rev past 3K rpm. Dun think the general driving community does that kind of driving. Most change gears around 2.5K, while some even think that revving past 2K will spoil the engine! [crazy] So car manufacturers will seldom adopt this type of approach. Why do you think your stock car don't come with high flow filter? [;)]

It does give better performance, a compromise between the stock airbox and an open pod filter because it is shielded. Low end torque is maintained while high end is improved but not to the extent of an open pod. However, I wouldn't attribute it to the so called swirling effect that's supposed to be produced, but to the less restrictive airflow as compared to a stock airbox. I honestly do not think the twisty thingy works though it's nice to look at.

If you're fitting an SRI with a cone filter.. You wouldn't need the resonator anymore. Not sure what your engine bay looks like, but if the resonator doesn't get in the way you can leave it where it is.

bro...but through the messages in this thread..tot the resonator box affects the air flow into the engine bay by curving the air flow??? thus to the air filter????...btw..me riding a SIR...

But with an SRI you are no longer restricted to the air flowing thru the resonator. Your engine will suck in air from the surroundings of the cone... right?
