Sound insulation

With all the upgrades I've done for my car, noise level has gone up.

 

To solve the noise problem, I installed Sound Clad and Sound Plus. Cost me slightly more than $600.

 

Noise level dipped a bit. But still very noisy during acceleration.

 

Tire noise can be overcome by switching to quiet tyres like Azenis.

 

But, how about the main culprit (ie the engine compartment)? Does it help if I were to install a foam layer underneath the bonnet cover? Any other things I can install to keep the noise down?

Did U insulate the firewall area?

 

Try spraying some rubber undercoating at the firewall, that may help.

Sound Clad is the spray type. The one that was sprayed onto the underside of your vehicle.

 

Souund Plus is the mat type which consists of numerous pieces of sound insulating mats installed onto the floor and boot of your car.

 

The price for both systems is about $600.

 

The above systems don't really work for my car. I still feel it noisy. Maybe my car is too loud!
