"does a locknut come with an attached nylon ring on one end"

Hi! there, Ysfoo,

There're different types of locknuts, it'd be a problem if you use the one with nylon on a hot area of an engine. Go to any bolts & nuts shops and look around, there's one opposite to Autopoint AMK. I like to look around parts shops to update my memory.

maybe I am inexperience, but so far i never heard engine mount will creak

unless your car has suffered frontal collision before and lower cross member alignment wasnt properly, forcing the engine to sit on misalign engine mountings.

when engine mounting "crack"? worn, u will feel vibration inside your cabin when car is idling.

Do a simple test.

Pull handbrake to max

Half clutch, 1st gear, try to accelerate off, any creaking sound?

I think the sound are from the suspension parts instead. I maybe wrong

yes...engine mountings do crack....the rubber enclosed by the metal bracket around it will harden after time and will just crack eventually.....

that's when u will the vibration going thru ur steeriing wheel and firewall to everywhere else in the car which is suppose to vibrate so badly at all
