RadX Moderator July 23, 2004 Share July 23, 2004 Try one of the physiotherapy shops. They shld sell such stuff. Alternatively, the closest you can get is the pharmacies, etc, like NTUC, Guardian

Ace_t Neutral Newbie July 23, 2004 Share July 23, 2004 believe it that some cars have this built into their cars ? while other makes have those dials that can arch the sitting position in the car. same principal IMHO...

Ace_t Neutral Newbie July 23, 2004 Share July 23, 2004 as Radx mentioned, they do sell it at the local pharmacies. try putting cushion on the seat (bum) area when driving. that should help stressing the lower back muscles.

Kurty Supercharged November 17, 2016 Share November 17, 2016 getting old, body start to show signs.. any good recommendation for lumbar and neck/shoulder support? I'm using seahorse memory pillow for now, not the best but for that price, can't complain much. This is my 4th pillow from them. as for lumbar support, I spend like 3 hrs on road daily.. for now, only using those soft pillow, place at the lumbar. based on Radx recommendation, anyone tried backjoy? my right shoulder is killing me. I have also developed shoulder twitching, nearly a year. Went to see doctors, only given painkillers went to see TCM, massages helps but only a short period. It stops me slouching in my seat and helps me sit up straight. It also helps tighten the stomach so I guess it helps with better posture. Buy online its half price at around $35.
Jamesc Hypersonic November 17, 2016 Share November 17, 2016 The other thing that might help is memory foam cushions. If I have to take a long flight I always use that and never get bum pain or discomfort from sitting too long. I like memory foam so much I have it as insoles in my shoes and as a topper on the bed. My seahorse pillow is memory foam type, I don't find that good leh I never use pillows so I am not sure but I really like the topper. Its a very thin topper only like 2 inch but I get a bit of the sunken in feeling. I also think different brands got different quality and very different prices. Try the Tempur in shopping centres, very ex but to me very nice. I think they should use memory foam as padding in car seats. The best thing for back ache is exercise. My 70+ year old mother I took her for long walks and she said she had the best sleep, increase her appetite, lost weight and all her aches and pain were gone. Yes, most cars lumbar support not that great. And such pillow may help to provide a better posture - less pain. Good to do stretching too regularly. Btw: Perhaps good to consult your Dr again. May need to do simple X ray of cervical spine or referred to ortho surgeon for MRI. Generally, for persistent symptoms not better with medication/TCM, may be prudent to exclude degenerative /wear and tear of your cervical spine bone or/and possiblity of nerve impingement. Take care bro!

Sorry to ask, what is a topper? you use that for sleeping? actually I don't have backache but I got shoulder ache.. any remedy? I admit, I put on some weight after marriage. I tried to cut carbo and buffets, yet still makes me overweight. Exercise, also rare ever since I had a torn ACL. Definitely not healthy. Saw Qoo10 selling backjoy for $38 with delivery, order 1 already Yes, most cars lumbar support not that great. And such pillow may help to provide a better posture - less pain. Take care bro! thank you. Well, long story cut short. I had a back injury during my NS time and for the rest of my life, our dear ARMY is paying for my medication bills. I have degenerative, slightly slipped disc but this has been fine and well accepted by my body. I had a torn ACL on my right knee during 2 years back during a soccer game, and was told to go for op which I declined. I don't take painkiller unless necessary. I believe in living with the pain and find ways to overcome it. so far, everything is fine. The only pain comes from the right shoulder and occasionally, neck.. ↡ Advertisement
