I use RON92. It can take RON92 but just don't go pushing the car beyond 120kph which is around 4k RPM. Engine will work very hard to prevent detonation and vibrate like hell. Hell! I think the vibration I experienced is detonation! [sweatdrop]

Let it settle to the next tank and see. Tell the engineers at SA.

Running now rpm not more than 3k and speed not more 90kph. [wave]

my own experience, Aveo fuel guage need time warm up a bit, the 1st reading when u 1st on your car is rough reading, after travel a while(>5 minute) then read will more accurate. [;)]

i do feel that Aveo fuel tank most likely is in taper shape, big at top small at bottom.

1st half tank can travel 240km, 2nd half only made 170km [dizzy][dizzy]

but 25l go 184km is far too low [sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

wow! a 1/4 tank make 240kms, total 240km x 4 = 960km. >> equal to 960 / 45l = 21.33km/l [shocked][shocked]

Even Ken4 says this oil value for money. SHU is a rip-off for the lubricant technology it uses. Basically hydrocracked dino oil to give you the VHVI. [shakehead]

Wah how come some of you can have such good FC? My Aveo at best do 210Km from full tank to 1/4 full marking. The tank is not linear, so by the time it reach 'E' mark, I usually only manage 370km. FC only around 10Km/L. I used to rev a lot, but have tamed down. Now driving very conservatively. Even let scooters OT me, yet FC only improved slightly shakehead.gif

I thought during the 5K servicing, we are still using mineral oil? At least until 10K then SA will switch to Mobil semi-synthetic? Is this RP oil really that good? Better than Mobil's synthetic oil?

RP cannot fight M1 lah! M1's additive package is the best in the industry. A mix of PAO and esters for cleaning and lubrication. But expensive.

RP on the other hand is PAO base stock with dino carrier oil. Still OK for the job. My car is using 20wt oil. Freaking thin and warms up freaking fast. 30wt oil will do the same as well. RP is selling at $9.75/qt. The Aveo 1.4L using 4qt. That is already 39 bucks. 39 bucks for fully syn oil. compared to almost 100 for 4L of M1 also fully syn. You do the math. In fact, I think it costs only $7 more than Mobil XHP Super 20W50 that SA is using.

Yes you can switch to syn oil on the 5k servicing.
