Hi Folks,

My Octy is one yr old now and would like to give it a new set of shoes. Any recommendations. The continental tryes are already slipping on rainy days (usually when moving off). Any one here using 17" rims? Does it degrade he pickup? Any brand you bro's have used that give's excellent grip, with minimal noise? Conti tyres quite noisy especially bcos of the rigid body frame.

Also any suggestions for an ICE (actually more of the speaker set) that can fit our Octy's. HU pretty much standard, but the rear speakers quite difficult as it's only 4.5". Also the front 6.5" has to very thin I think. Wondering if anyone here has fitted off the shelf speakers that actually fit the Octy.

Thanks in advance.

Dude,

Try Bridgestone G3s.........a bit noisy but great grip !! Just a personal view....though I know of a few Octy's that are on the G3's namely......Skodee for one !! Ask him for an opinion.......

Hi Dude,

Yes agreed with C708. Potenza G3's grip is pretty good but road noise will be compromise....slightly noisier than some tyres but very lasting according to some bros on another forum's thread.

Mine is on 17" shoes and pick up I find is the same as before...probably slightly or same weight as my 15" stock iron wheel previously laugh.gif But it will be quite bumpy going thru humps and bumps...grip on turning is great thumbsup.gif . Fuel consumption stays about the same.

As for front speakers, mine fitted with Rainbow speakers nicely and a friend of mine fit with a Blaupunkt speakers set that sounds great! idea.gif My back end got to drill 2 holes to fit a 6" speakers (Malaysia made Audio & Audio) that is quite good too...

Just my views...

Turbocharged

Mine also on 17s. Using Yoko ES100. My point of view. Grip is damn good. Wet or dry. After which changed to front 2 tyres using Nokian. Relatively cheap and good too.

Hi,

My Octy has passed one year now too.. Ya has felt the same thing the wheel slipping esp during turning. Also thinking to upgrade but think will wait for another year. I got a recommendation on Dunlop Dz101. You may want to find out more.

For ICE, I have installed a pair of rainbow speakers for the front. It can fit in the door panel instead of the velocity ones.

For the back I just use the blaupunkt ones which acts as a fill-in speakers. Also got a Bazooka bass tube with of course a 6 ch amp.
