Kytl68 Neutral Newbie July 5, 2004 Share July 5, 2004 How long do you usually go before you do an oil change for your synthetic oil ..... 10K ? Does your FC drops just about 7000km after oil change ? Can most oil last the distance ? Good guide would be to check colour of oil and also how many months it's there since we all cover different mileage ... is 6 month or 10K a good guide ? ↡ Advertisement

Mondeo Neutral Newbie July 5, 2004 Share July 5, 2004 (edited) Alot of workshops claimed that semi-syn's working temperature actually lower than fully-syn. And semi-syn can be last more than 10k for normal driving. FC drop may affect by many factors, e.g. tyres.. Edited July 5, 2004 by Mondeo
Dhti Neutral Newbie July 6, 2004 Share July 6, 2004 between 8k to 10k max... i one month around 4k km...so every bimonthly i service my car... on Mobil 1 Gold and of course oil filter change... spark plugs - i will use the denso iridium for next change, intend to use up to around 24k km around 6 months...if i feel the performance of extended use of the spark plugs deteriorate, then i will switch back to normal spark plugs for lower price but changing it at 10k km... Apollo 1st Gear July 6, 2004 Share July 6, 2004 a rough guide would be ur fuel consumption, engine noise level and dipstick check. the better guide is to install a oil pressure gauge and check that pressure is maintained neither too high or low. but ur best guide would be a Used Oil Analysis. ↡ Advertisement
