I think it was called ABS Trak, no sure how it worked though......like TV Media product IMHO [:p]

ABS Trak was on alot of Protons and Mitsubishis, maybe some owners can testify to them?? [:)]

Its probably subcontracted out by C&C before the customer gets his car, lots of mits and protons didnt come with standard ABS that time. You know its there when there is a little sticker on the bootlid or at the side of the car...

So where can we get ABS Trak installed if our cars do not come factory fitted? If C&C fix it up on the cars they import, I guess it must be quite reliable.

Used to see lots of car with ABS Trax a couple of years back, when ABS was not the standard safety equipment....

But now since most (or ALL) new cars are ABS equipped, not sure whether there are still 3rd party ABS around...

Point to note that ABS Trak may not be a "real" ABS which is modulated by electronic ECU plus hydraulic pump. I'll dig deeper and see whether I can find any info on aftermarket ABS [;)]

"An FTC Administrative Law Judge has found that the "ABS/Trax" add-on braking system marketed by Automotive Breakthrough Sciences, Inc. and ABS Tech Sciences, Inc., and purported to function just like factory-installed antilock brakes (ABS), does not, in fact, sense the rate of rotation of the car's wheels or the degree of wheel slip to correct such slippage"

[shocked][shocked][shocked]

Think about the dangers those who "think" they have ABS might have been in!

Tks Davey.. that means the ABS Trak is a road hazard more than a help in emergency and "low margin of error" situations. *yurks!*
