Wheel spacers?

Anyone tried wheel spacers before? Heard that it will affect the handling of the car. Currently I am already using 15mm offset rims but the wheels are still sitting quite deep in the wheel hub. Thinking of using spacers to push the wheels maybe a few mm out.

I thought wheel spacers are taboos in the tyres and wheels? I dunno abt handling, but sure sounds like a trouble spot to me . I for one will never allow my wheels to have a spacer within.

You may need longer bolts/nuts if you use a spacer so that your wheel is safely bolted on. Should have better cornering stability due to wider stance. Make sure the tyre don't scrub the arch, though! [;)]

Quite a taboo item, the safety aspect is debatable.

Will the spacers be strong enough to hold the wheel/tire to the hub? (longer bolts inclusive)

Will there be balancing problems if done off wheel?

Wheel spacers have become taboo becos many do them wrongly...to save cost, etc. If you would like to have spacers for your car, get the ones that come with bolts so your wheels are properly secured. Most people add spacers on to their existing bolts and just screw on their rims like that, even tho they know it's insecure.

Once you add on spacers, you will need to do wheel alignment, and in extreme cases, do camber adjustments.
