wise man think alike [laugh] think by yr 2010, fuel price will be $2 or more, this is worrying [shakehead] maybe they come up with neuclear powered cars, can last 100000km per top up. that'll be nice.

can put the thing in em black box or super hard structure. besides, knowing got a neuclear reactor in the car, everybody will drive nice and steady, watch out for each others, very careful. those pussies and roadhog will not dare to drive, coz they scare die one. It actually make the road a better place, why not [sly][laugh]

Fuel pump and float asembly are two units house togather. The float assembly has a transducer like sensor that receive a certain fix dc voltage ( maybe 5volt) from the on-board computer. The float if it is at the highest position ( full tank ) will allow full passage of the fix voltage back to the onboard computer. If the float transducer is unable to maitain the voltage at certin level of the fuel than it is simply either the tranducer is faulty , there is a dry wire soldering or the engine management default programming need debugging.

You want to inform this to SA....

Having seen the fuel gage, I wasnt convinced by their explanation.

But I have other priorty at the moment, hence will KIV this issue.

so it may well be a poor electrical design, wiring or joint that can cause this ? maybe find one day, take leave or off, just hang around SA and see how they actually go about rectifying this fuel guage thing. maybe they just spray some contact cleaner on the joints and thats it already [furious]

I agree with you.

SG is much different from US or korea, with very very hot, and petrol are more easier to envaporate. I don't know weather is also contribute to the fault reading. [shakehead]

Exactly. But than again I like to go down to our neighbouring country for some R&R. If the gauge cause me this issue and get caught even I have 3/4 full tank, than it really not worth it.

Having said that, the ride in Optra is good and have no regrets.

Amazing, you must be one of the rare ones who can achieve such good fc on Optra auto...... I'll be smiling all the way if I can hit 10.5km/l these days [shakehead]

Still, I fully agree with you, the Optra is a nice ride [thumbsup] Guess that really compensates for the higher fc.

I'm currently using Shell95 and I'm getting around 9.5km/l. For my next few tanks I'll switch to Shell98 and see what FC I get. If it's at least 10km/l, I'll say bye bye to 95 forever, cos that'll be a 5% improvement in FC and 98 cost around 5% more. So it balances out, and with the benefits of using 98, it's a much better deal! [nod]

But, I'll have to experiment with 98 over at least 4 tanks first......
