Have you lowered your suspension? Changed the springs? Strut bar would be useless if your springs are not changed to lower the car... It will make you feel different, yes... But more to the inseure sense.

not exactly true...

while lowering does increase stability, struct bar increase body rigidity...

thus in overall handling, although struct bar effectivenees is not as great as lowering, it still improves the ride. And you are talking about tens of dollars verse hundreds/thousands for lowering setup...

best if have both!! [angel]

I tried having a strut bar with no other modifications to my lancer... The corners felt scarier than before!!! Anti-roll bar is more effective lah.

I think you won't feel much difference with strut tower bars unless you take corners VERY aggressively.

With regular turns, the car's chasis only twist minimally. But the effect of the roll is much more pronounce and throws off your camber.

My recommendation is to get upgraded anti roll bars before getting strut tower bars. However, STB looks good when you expose your engine. You'll experience a huge difference with anti roll bars.

Installed the front strut bar (ver 2.0). However I noticed that when turning lock to lock, there will be a sound coming from the strut bar, as though it is being twisted or stretched. Any answers or similar problems faced by others?

I'm also interested to install strut bar on my lancer... but need to hear from those who had done it to know if it will reduce body roll...

Maybe can re-open this thread for discussion....

Just installed the summit brand today. The strut bar is a weird orange color on the sides but looks racy to me. There are some funny sounds when I turn the wheels but I saw the mechanic tightened the nuts really hard. Not sure what the noises are but I can surely feel the different esp during sharp cornering. When turning to the left can feel right side heavier sorta trying to balance the car. However I feel more effect when going over a hump. I can feel the front strut bar reducing the vibration on the front wheel, while the rear wheels have more vibrations. Seems to me that the strut also helps to improve ride comfort when going over humps.
