Skip Neutral Newbie October 30, 2006 Share October 30, 2006 Quote Thanks for the info, so I'll probably be looking for the Crystal Vision. But looking at Garlic's reply from LTA, since my car does not come fitted with HID (even those sold now), does that mean that I might not pass inspection even if I use LTA approved HID? CrystalVision is halogen, not HID Xenon. It's a direct replacement for your stock bulbs, no modifications required: http://www.nam.lighting.philips.com/us/aut...ystalvision.php ↡ Advertisement
Wishsing Neutral Newbie October 30, 2006 Share October 30, 2006 interesting. so tat means it's definitely LTA compliant - since halogen bulb upgrade is not listed as illegal mod? any idea where i can get hold of this? price?
Mondeo Neutral Newbie October 30, 2006 Author Share October 30, 2006 U are referring orignal xenon light right?! sure not problem for inspection, but I dun understand why you brought yr car for inspection just for installed original xenon light? Crasher Neutral Newbie October 30, 2006 Share October 30, 2006 Thanks for the link, found the Part Number of Headlight: 9007CV using that link, but I am kinda blur on how the part number is related to the bulbs I need, like H1, H3 H1B. One for Low Beam, one for High Beam and another for Fog light. The link does not provide me with the option for the different lights.
Pisces69 6th Gear October 31, 2006 Share October 31, 2006 Philips CV,DV & VP are all halogen. That type of bulb is approved as long as u keep to the stated wattage for your car.

You can get the entire philips range from Autobacs or Stamford, I think Concorde sells them too, but not sure of the price. I remember seeing a demo booth at Autobacs where you can check out the light "colour" before buying. As some bros mentioned above, not all the bulbs are LTA friendly but I am not sure which ones are..
Wishsing Neutral Newbie October 31, 2006 Share October 31, 2006 Thanks bro. will go check it out. (really alot of things to buy...) btw, how does the Philip ones compare to HID XEON (in terms of brightness-able to see further; heat etc). cant seem to find much info on the Philips website. thanks. The difference is like day and night! When i got my car i replaced the stock halogen with a "HID-look" white light halogen (bought from Yahoo auction, quite cheap) which was brighter than the stock bulbs. Recently I bought the Klight HID kit from the GB organised by vtim, and after installing it i realised the "HID-look" halogen doesn't come anywhere near the real HID in terms of brightness and colour temperature. Wishsing Neutral Newbie October 31, 2006 Share October 31, 2006 great stuff bro. anyway, i just went to Autobac to "witness" the brightness of the Philip's DV, CV etc. i was told by the sales there that the BOTH DV(DiamondVision) and CV(CrystalVision) are not LTA compliant. can only go for the 4000K BlueVision(SGD70) or SilverVision(SGD70) or the cheaper VisionPlus (SGD45;claims to be 20% brighter and 10-20m more-compared to normal halogen i guess). Pisces69 6th Gear October 31, 2006 Share October 31, 2006 Last month I saw a shop in Sembawang Shpp Cntr selling the VP for less than $40. They also have CV & DV. BTW, during the brightness test, did u notice the DV & CV very much brighter than the VP? If it is, I just might want to get the DV.
Wishsing Neutral Newbie October 31, 2006 Share October 31, 2006 i wont be surprise. Autobac is not the cheapest place in town for car stuff. It's just well-stock. haha i didnt manage to "see" the VP (it wasnt working) :(
Pisces69 6th Gear October 31, 2006 Share October 31, 2006 i didnt manage to "see" the VP (it wasnt working) :( ============================== Oh OK. Thanks. I was thinking of changing to the DV cos I now using VP for abt 2 years & the brightness seems to be getting dimmer & dimmer. Prob going to blow soon so maight as well get a brighter bulb. Wishsing Neutral Newbie October 31, 2006 Share October 31, 2006 hi bro, is the VP "yellow" color? i think the DV is abt SGD90. i am keen to get it too. let me know if you got good lobang. thanks.
Pisces69 6th Gear November 1, 2006 Share November 1, 2006 Yup. VP is yellow colour. DV sud b more white but my reason to get DV is for Brighter Light. Not cos of the white light. I prefer yellow light. There r a couple of places which used to sell Philips bulbs cheaper than the rest. I try & contact them & see if still can get good price. Wishsing Neutral Newbie November 1, 2006 Share November 1, 2006 Great!! dun forget to drop me a PM whe you got the GOOD LOBANG. i guess DV will be better for my black base headlamps.
Seanboi 1st Gear November 1, 2006 Share November 1, 2006 Quote I retrofitted my xenons and passed inspection. But I did buy original xenon lights for my car. This includes the whole headlight cluster with projector lenses. However it wasn't a complete installation as I didn't bother to install the self-levelling sensors. That would be too much trouble. Passed with no problems. Wad car u driving? U just original headlamp? Hw abt the xenon kit?
Pisces69 6th Gear November 1, 2006 Share November 1, 2006 Sure. Let me go & look for the name of the shops first.
Lexxmexx Neutral Newbie November 2, 2006 Share November 2, 2006 (edited) Just wondering, are these DV, CV and VP bulbs lasting? I was told by someone that they burst easily after a few months and none will come as close as the original ones which can last for years.
