Vass Neutral Newbie May 26, 2004 Share May 26, 2004 In Japs car the rubber seal normally runs along the door perimeter but for the octy the strip is glued on the car frame. For my almost 3 yr old octy, some part has lost the "sticky-ness" and looks awful. Any one also encounter this problem ? Any special glue or tape that can use to secure it back ? ↡ Advertisement

Fortress Clutched October 27, 2005 Share October 27, 2005 Understand that this happened to you about 1 years ago, it happened to mine now, due to my daughter stepping in and out on the seal. Can you be kind enough to share what kind of glue did you use.

Moeykf Neutral Newbie November 16, 2005 Share November 16, 2005 my internal rubber seal peeled off too.....im temporary using the glue tat i use to paste my shoe sole on tat stupid seal but it wont last long... best is to hammer a nail and lock it down permanently
Fortress Clutched November 17, 2005 Share November 17, 2005 (edited) Tried what you said, but the contact adhesive for shoes cannot take the heat. Solved mine using sealant for engine seal, it is as good as new. Nailing it in will cause rusting from cathodic corrosion, which is even worse. Fortress Clutched November 20, 2005 Share November 20, 2005 Not too sure, the guys might be better at it, usually do them seperately, to budget my cost and also time. Do the timing belt and water pump first. The rest of the belt can do later.
