I used to use the ST115. First 15K km, yeah, quiet, not bad, quite good in the dry. But in the wet..nah, did not really feel that it was good, especially when I've used Goodyear F1 GSD3 and Michelin Preceda.

Actually it should be the material used in Michellin tyres are very plastic type and suits continental cars cos they are heavy enough to force the tyre grip onto the ground compared to Jap cars which are light so very dangerous to use cos it will have firmer grip on the ground.

Another friend of mine recommend to get the BFGoodRich tyre cos he told me that it is cheaper than Michellin though under same company and using same material as Michellin but manufactured in Thailand. Anyone have any comments on this brand?

Wat kinda advise is that ?? Michelin does not suit Jap or Korean car ?? dizzy.gifdizzy.gif

Tyres are built to suit road conditions , not car make. Not like F1 ley ... where Bridgestone purpose built tyres for the Ferrari team unsure.gif

If he say Michelins not suited for our weather and road conditions , I can accept lah ... not made for Jap and Korean makes sounds queer to me dizzy.gif

most likely the shop try to sell him the BS cause don't have the Michelins, this is the SOP 'reason' not only for tyres shop, most retail shops also use it to push their goods unimpressed.gifunimpressed.gifunimpressed.gif

If a tyre shop give me this excuse .... I;d either be very very angry (insulting my intelligence) or I'd be laughing my head off unsure.gif

You'll be surprised how quite a lot of tire shops will state that conti tires for conti cars, jap tires for jap cars....spastic...

Like that BF Goodrich is a US brand ... so must use for American cars only lah laugh.gif

Hi,

mine happens to be conti car. Original ones were Michelin (XT1) and they were quite gd to me but noisy, so I change back to Michelin too. Me not expert on this, only wet weather and cornering no skid can already. I changed from 175/65R14 to 185/60R14, because the person said the original size not so easy to find anymore.

I thot Michelin also from Thailand?

I think those made in Thailand more suited for our hot weather. tyre makers now willing to make specialised versions for tropical weather, different compounds, etc. So get Thai ones are OK.

Personally, I don't really think it makes much diff. I mean, they still have to have QC for their tires, plus tropicalised rubber would be used right?

I mean if people can now buy City...Altis...why not thai-made tires?

[confused]
