" Would like to give the F1-GSD3 a try if possible to see how it fares. "

Bro,

The F1-GSD3's not too bad.........had a set of 245 40 18s installed today on another car......quite quiet considering the low profile......recommended.....cost 340 pe pc @ SE tyre......

I've used them before, tire size 205/55/16. After 10K mileage done, I'm beginning to think that I either need to wear ear plugs or turn up the stereo when on rough surfaces.

Mind you, the Toledo's sound proofing is already very good and yet....

Am using 225/45/17 Michelin Precedas now, way quieter than F1 GSD3.

Ok. Thanks for the feedback ! nod.gif Let me know if you do get to try the Precedas as welll so that you can compare it with the F1-GSD3s. wink.gif

I have been getting varied feedback about the noise from the F1-GSD3 and the Precedas. crazy.gif

Unfortunately, how noisy a tyre is is subjective to each driver, and the only way to get an objective view is for the driver to test out both brands of the same size on the same car along the same roads.... ceteris paribus. nod.gif

I am also thinking of changing my tires. But my choice is between the MXV8 and the GR80. Looking quiet tires but of course must be safe in dry and wet. Not thinking of speeding, just normal driving. I have Michelins OEM now and they are good enough but old already, so a bit biased towards getting another set of Michelins.

Is there any review that objectively compared the 2? Cannot depend on what the manafacturers say, right? Also cannot depend on car magazines that tested only one set of tires, while being sponsored by the manafacturer and got advertisement in the magazine! surely say good one right!? [shakehead]

Yeah that's true. but when the F1s were of size 205 and the Precedas were of size 225 on the same car, the Preceda being wider, still quieter than F1...so....but best you try it out for yourself...although it's gonna be costly.

my current ones are OEM Michelin. Thot of changing a new set of Michelin as well. I like the wet weather grip, but find them rather noisy.

Check with you all whether anyone tried on the Michellin Energy XM1, heard the grip not bad and also helps to save on petrol?

Currently I am using the Falken ST115, now a bit noisy though still got grip but don't know what tyres to change next, any advice?

I dun know about the Energy XM1 unsure.gif cause I have used the MXV8 before and am not impressed. blush.gif

Am currently on BF Goodrich and I must say, they are quite good ... not as noisy as the Michelins but grip is much much better especially in the wets. thumbsup.gif And for S$80 per tyre .. its good value for money.

Produced in Thailand though crazy.gif If that doesnt matter .... then you can try it thumbsup.gif
