there is a auto dimming type for eyes comfort if u r affected by the glare. alternatively read ur car's manual on the rear view mirror, just flip the lever, or check out accessories shop for more varieties

Very troublesome to flip the mirror, moreover the eye need to look at the road all the time.

I've been to shops and looking at the rearview mirrors. there are so many brands, so many types, most are in japanese, so i find it hard to determine which is good enough so that i do not overspent on it.

bro... i'm confused... u don't want to overspend on your rearview mirror... but u also don't want the 'free way', ie to flip the original mirror when there's glare (the flipping does not cost anything mah)..

maybe u can give a budget so the bros can narrow down the recommendations? ;)

Do not put those aftermarket rearview mirrors. Cheapo ones don't have the antiglare feature. Try to use the original mirror that came with your car. To flick the mirror is easy. You practice! Like you learned manual gearshift when you drive.

Instructor will scold you for looking at the gear stick when you shift, likewise, pretend there is an instructor beside you or rather you scold yourself. With your eyes on the road, just reach out and feel for the switch. Like doing manual gear shift, gently pull it towards you to turn the antiglare on. Don't flick it, you might change the mirror position that you have set for yourself.

Almost the same reflex when you are washing face with soap all over your face and you reach for the water tap eyes closed.

ok, maybe i've not made myself clear.

why i am looking for a rearview mirror is not solely because of the glare. i find that the original mirror does not magnify the view. the vehicles looks so small through the rearview mirror, so i am looking for one that does magnification. most, if not all, rearview mirror accessory i came across has magnification, except some have anti-glaring effect.

the anti-glaring one can be as expensive as $60, while a normal one is about $18. so i am undecided which to get and what is a good brand that one can recommend.

You will regret the magnify RVM. It will screw up your perspective very badly. Lots of US engineers have complained about the magnify wing mirrors already but manufacturers keep fitting them. This is precisely the reason why RVM are not magnifying as they DO COMPROMISE on safety. You can get them, but don't say I didn't warn you.
