Yokohama Aspec, which model most quiet???

So far, those I've tried myself,

1) CSC - sports touring tyre with a relatively quiet and comfrotable ride.

2) Toyo R1R - Superb traction but not so good in wet. Soft and sticky compound so will not last. Best for cornering! [thumbsup]

3) Kumho 712 (currently using) - traction a shade lower than R1R but should be comparable to AVS Sports. Overall, cheap and good! [thumbsup] No regrets.

From friend's feedback on similar car,

1) Yoko AVS Sports - very good traction both in wet and dry.

2) Michelin Pilot Sports - very good traction in wet and dry.

3) Toyo Vimode - very similar to AVS Sports in performance.

Just my $0.02.

Hi Mike,

Is that Richard's comment on the Yoko AVS Sports?

I personally likes the wet grip. Now always looking for puddle of water to charge thru... [smash]

The only thing is the noise level..... [furious]

I had 2 close friends who's using or had used that tyre and yes, Richard is one of them. Abt the noise level, well........can't have all the good things right? BTW, high performance tyres cannot be quite and vice versa. Just blast your boom chit chit lor! [laugh][laugh][laugh]

speaking of that, what's the max inflation load on the aspec 205/50/16? i dont find the rating on the sidewall of the rubber leh... [dizzy]

I think Aspec dB is one of the quietest around. Have never tried it myself but that's the general feeling I get after reading through the few car forums. Not really cheap, though. You can try Leong Seng at Kaki Bukit or Alexandra Road. One of the most competitively priced place.

Mitlover,

If you are comparing the Yokohama Aspec DB and the AVS Sports, then the answer to your questions are obvious:

1. Noise level low => Aspec DB

2. Better grip in wet and dry => AVS Sports (or rather excellent grip in both conditions)

Duh..........I don't really know the inflation load of the aspec 205/50/16 as I've never used the tyres before but I'm sure it's way above the usual pressure we pump for daily use. I'm using 33psi for my daily runs for my 205/55 15" and pump it up to 35psi for my occasional jaunts in Malaysia.

Hope it helps.
