>>>>>> ............ He was the only man to lap in the 1m 15s this afternoon, in track temperatures that swung between a high of 35 degrees Celsius initially but plunged to 27 as rain spots fell in the first and final sectors towards the end. The two Buckmore Park karting graduates (they raced together there in their early years) sat at the head of the times to the end of the session, and the team were delighted. Edited by Super7

Now isnt this interesting

Irvine tells Montoya to drive Schumi off the track

In his usual diplomatic and tactful way Eddie Irvine has advised Juan Pablo Montoya to boot Michael Schumacher off the track as a means to ending his latest tiff with the German.

According to Irvine the time for talking about Schumacher's on-track antics has long gone. Instead it is time for someone to take action, and there is no better person than Montoya. The Colombian is the latest in a long line of drivers to feel wronged by Schumacher's driving etiquet after the Ferrari driver nudged him off the track at the San Marino GP.

Two weeks later Montoya is still complaining about the incident. Upon arriving at Barcelona for this weekend's race he skulked off to find race director Charlie Whiting and discuss the legality of Schumi's manouvre. However, Irvine believes that won't do any good, and more drastic measures are called for.

"Juan Pablo Montoya needs to act hard rather than moan every time he's an unlucky victim of Michael Schumacher's track antics. For the only way sinner Schumacher is ever going to be taught a proper lesson is for a rival to ram him off the circuit," his former team-mate told The Sun.

"Schumacher's weaving tactics at the start of the San Marino Grand Prix were totally out of order and Montoya had every right to go on the attack. Schuey always appears to get away with offences which lesser drivers would be punished for. But it's been going on for years and until someone sorts him out the German ace won't be changing his driving style. The way Schumacher defends his position is truly outrageous at times. The rules say you are only allowed one blocking move but he's all over the place and relies on the guy behind lifting off to avoid an accident."

He added: "You have to fight fire with fire and if Montoya finds himself in a similar situation in tomorrow's Spanish Grand Prix there's only one recommendation - have Schumacher off."
