Bluefreud Clutched May 5, 2004 Share May 5, 2004 Hi, I'm a newbie to this forum but I found that it is very informative here. Would like to ask for help. Found that my steering wheel gets a bit stiff when driving, like very hard to turn. So wonder what could be wrong. Abit worried cos of safety (e.g when need turn but cant turn how?). I'm driving a 1.0 starlet which is coming to 19 yrs old with no power steering. So not sure is "old age" problem or wat? Before that, the steering was ok. Please advise this newbie. Thanks. ↡ Advertisement
Yeobh 4th Gear May 5, 2004 Share May 5, 2004 Inspect the followings a) Check front undercarriage for bend tie rod. Look out for stick, plastic bottle etc stuck in between steering linkage. b) Inspect tyre for abnormal wears and check air pressure c) Check wheel steering for free play. ↡ Advertisement
