Seansene 1st Gear March 12, 2004 Author Share March 12, 2004 Now compare the combined car-motorcycle list. There are 23 bikes that do the quarter mile faster than the McLaren, the fastest car

Super7 Turbocharged March 12, 2004 Share March 12, 2004 just curious: how fast are F1 cars in terms of 0-100kmh and quarter mile sprints?? ....... read it somewhere that 0-100 is about 2.7 sec, true/false?
Seansene 1st Gear March 12, 2004 Author Share March 12, 2004 Well, I got these about the 2002 McLaren F1 car: 0-60mph 2.3 seconds 0-100mph 3.6 seconds 0-100-0mph 6.6 seconds Still looking for quarter mile times...
Jazziegirl Clutched March 12, 2004 Share March 12, 2004 uh.... bimbo question - how much is quarter mile in km? dun scold me lah
Super7 Turbocharged March 12, 2004 Share March 12, 2004 wow..... it takes less than one third the time of most fast saloons to reach 100kmh, like that how far ahead when both reach that speed?... i mean the F1 ahead of the saloon?
Armored_Saint Neutral Newbie March 12, 2004 Share March 12, 2004 Hmmm...not feasible to compare bikes against cars. Even a tuned up 125cc bike can easily beat an above average car in the quarter mile sprint. My ride does the sprint in 6 secs...but racing with my brother's ST 1100, he leaves me in the dust even before I can change gears.
Seansene 1st Gear March 12, 2004 Author Share March 12, 2004 (edited) Tell you what, I'll take you halfway... 1 inch = 25.4 mm. Go convert into miles and kilometres Edited March 12, 2004 by Seansene
S2P2 Neutral Newbie March 12, 2004 Share March 12, 2004 too long lah....tonight then i slowly look thru....but i do a search, how come some INVINCIBLE car not shown huh???? or they not tested, or they totally CMI to the list
Seansene 1st Gear March 12, 2004 Author Share March 12, 2004 Of course it's not fair. My point was that no matter how fast you think your car is, a bike's going to make mincemeat of your timings, at a fraction of the cost
Seansene 1st Gear March 12, 2004 Author Share March 12, 2004 "how come some INVINCIBLE car not shown huh????" You mean Ford Focus 1.6?

Seansene 1st Gear March 12, 2004 Author Share March 12, 2004 Okay lah. Very roughly, 1 mile = 1.6 km, so a quarter mile = 0.25x1.6 = 0.4 = 400 metres ↡ Advertisement
