I saw a website with lots of dyno tests results, comparing the differences before and after installing mods.

Installing a cone air intake charger ONLY, will result in big drop in horsepower and torque during low rpm.. By low rpm, I mean 1000 - 3000 rpm.

Sports intake vs stock intake

http://www.ttzd.com/rides/dynocharts/dynochart16.html

Torque dropped as much as 155 to 120.

pulley vs lightened pulley

http://www.ttzd.com/rides/dynocharts/dynochart33.html

Big overall gain throughout power band.. Hp 263-282 Tq 329-353

Finally... NOS and no NOS

Clement, where did u get that drop in filter? From Speedworks? How much is that? Wanted to change to that too....

BTW, is there really a great diff in low end, comparing open cone and drop in? Doesn't want to waste any extra money.... [dizzy]

U can as Scwee... think his air filter is stock one.... but after he got the magnets & grounding done by cool.... he can feel the tangible difference immediately [thumbsup] .... so if u ask me... maybe u want to pte msg cool and check with him his availablity... but from what i know.... the last set of his pre-launch has finished liao... so pls confirm with him.... Why not try cold air intake? Basically, cold air intake is just regular coned air intake, but placed up front, near the bumper, so that you'll get cold air.

I think you will get more consistent power even on hot days.. You know sometimes when the weather is hot, your car feels like 20% heavier. That should alleviate the problem. It might drop the torque even more though, due to the longer intake pipes.

I've also read webpages about projects to use regular air con duct (round type) to direct air from bumper to intake.

My crazy friend drill a hole in the hood and put in a scooper and intercooler. He has a turbo engine though.
