Recently whenever I do a left or right turn or U-turn there are rattling sounds from my drive shaft. I guess its gone.

Need a reliable workshop. Went to CAS n was quoted S$450. Went to Proserv n was quoted S$400. For both drive shaft.

My car '89 Honda Civic GL.

Any cheaper and reliable workshop???

"Any cheaper and reliable workshop???"

Hi! there, AdrianLi,

I had a 1.3 GL as my 1st car.

Are you using new driveshaft or re-con ones??

Where do you normally send your car for servicing??

I understand from them that its the re-con drive shaft. I guess if new ones will be more expensive.

Need a really specified workshop where I can go or call to get a quotation.

What will happen if I dont change it??????????? [confused][confused][confused]

in the club, there is a BN size of waitress ready to attach you anytime and anywhere..

if you go there, remember to ask me for a 'good' place.

Hi

Just to share.

To cover up worn out drive shaft , dealer will pump grease into the shaft.

This will cover up the knocking sound when turning.

Check if there is grease leaking out from the shaft cover.

"cover up worn out drive shaft"

Hi! there, Starlet,

It's the CV-joint (constant velocity) not the shaft that's covered. The CV-joint is replaceable, if there's no damage to the splines of the driveshaft.

The dust-boot on the cv-joint is to retain the grease that lubricates the ball bearings in the joint.

Noise from the cv-joint happens when the grease has leaked out from the dust-boot, then no more lubrication. The dust-boot is also replaceable if there're no damage to the ball bearings.

"boot can crack ?"

Hi! there, Ace_T,

Did you buy an original genuine part or oem one?

Original rubber boot will last longer than a replacement one.
