EMISSION SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED??

Hi guys,

 

Hows it going man??

 

My dad's s80 is under going some wierd technical phase.

EMISSION SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED keeps appearing and dissapearing.

 

Switching the engine off and back on, and it dissapears and appears again sometimes.

 

Basically, i just serviced the car not more than a mth ago and this problem arises!

 

And i dont wanna go to SM motors and get sucked dry over some stupid software upgrade which might cost me half a grand if you guys know what i mean.

 

HELP ME!!!

Sounds like somewhere a plug is loose in one of the emissions devices (i.e. solenoids, sensors, etc) or the ECU has an error and needs to be reflashed.

 

Software upgrade should be covered under warranty and in the US emissions stuff are usually covered at least 8yrs/80,000miles.

Hi there maybe i can help u. I'm driving an S80 too. Is there anything wrong with the car? Or is the the words just appearing on the screen?

Here's how u reset yr ECU.

1) start your engine.

2) kill the engine but leave yr batt on.

Repeat this for 3 times. It should sholve yr problem.

BTW yr dad's S80 is a 2.0T or T6??
