Hi Gavin,

I know the Subaru Outback or hotter verions of it do exist in the states... with 2600cc flat six (?)..... they may even have one with the rex engine in it.... this could be a cheaper alternative to the turbo-ed Volvo wagon or XC90.... the Subaru is enjoying quite a strong following by folks who stay in the country areas....

maybe even a Legacy AWD Wagon with the B4 power [laugh][laugh]

Btw, there is already a Legacy GTB wagon sold here a couple of years ago. Not many bought it i think, cost about $170K then [shocked]

It is a Legacy AWD wagon with B4 power [thumbsup]

Aiyah, the only jungle I'll tackle is the urban jungle (yes, even in USA). Probably get a cheap and good American SUV for my wife in the future (I hope [rolleyes] )

Hummm.....Durango, Explorer or Cherokee? [sly]

yeah, for comparison, at the time the Volvo V70R cost more than $170K, which made the Legacy AWD GTB look good..... hoping now there will be one or two in the 2nd hand market soon.....

someone ever said the Legacy AWD Wagon is good (poor man's) alternative to Volvo wagon, which says quite a lot for the Legacy [:)]

cheers

as long as it's not something like Suburban, Expedition, or Toeho (all 6-7 litre V8), these will be like aircraft carrier to her [;)]

Yes the Legacy is an underrated car, too bad the local dealer doesnt promote it much [knife]

The new Forester turbo sounds like a good alternative too [thumbsup]

oh yeah, the max torque of 245nm at low rpm is what caught my attention, not the 177hp.... as a comparison, 245nm usually is achievable only with NA engine size of about 3000cc? ......feel like going for a test drive this week..... anyone interested?

cheers
