Rainbow vs CDT

I've kind of narrowed my selection to either rainbow or CDT. Are they in the similar league altogether?

So far I've found rainbow below which is within my budget

Rainbow CS 265 Contour Line 6-1/2" Two-Way Component System 300 USD

Regarding CDT, I can only go with HD-62 series for 200USD, ES series is 600USD which is way too much.

From my understanding, Rainbow countour line is the lowest class rainbow line, how does it compare with CDT's HD series which is middle class.

I need some SQ!!

Well, I should have been more clear.

I am interested in opinions from Rainbow users. This is suppose to be a rainbow thread, the other one is a CDT thread.

I've searched and there are some rainbow users on this list, but no formal reviews of it.

Rainbow speakers sounds nice...installed them in my car with phoenix gold amps..titanium series.

I think my speakers are the 265 professional series. Something like. Check the wheel magazines last oct issue. there is a feature there.

Hope the info is helpful

Cheers

According to my limited knowledge, generally speaking, Rainbow speakers tend to sound a bit more forward and CDTs a bit warmer, so depends on your taste.

May i know where you can get the HD62s at USD200? If I remember correctly, the ES export model at SLS costs below S$700.

Paper comparison of specs only, I dun know the difference in SQ between the two. The EFs have a different crossover, slightly lower power handling and sensitivity, but comes with bigger tweets. But considering that it costs only abt S$100 more than the CL-61s which handles only 90W RMS, seems not a bad buy. Looks like it is a model tailored for the European market.
