Zombie Neutral Newbie February 10, 2004 Share February 10, 2004 Any comments on the WRX (non STi-version)? At slightly less than 110K, seems like a pretty good buy..... 0-100km/h should be below 6s rite? It's 2l turbo-charged somemore...... dun have to mod.... already powerful enough to beat most cars on the road..... what do you all think? a bit gian gian.... but must calculate affordability...another car is Ignis Sports..... but no turbo. ↡ Advertisement
Slayer Clutched February 10, 2004 Share February 10, 2004 (edited) Value for money. if i can afford it, I'd go for it. - Got bucket seats. No sunroof. - Manual tran only. - The roaring exhaust. - Solid handing. - some like the air scoop. some cant stand it. - Tend to rev it so u'll get heavy FC. - Get to feel the push. - Not as comfortable as camry or m6. Lawreo2002 Neutral Newbie February 10, 2004 Share February 10, 2004 frankly imo i rather get camry or mazda
Zombie Neutral Newbie February 10, 2004 Author Share February 10, 2004 understood.... but they are different categories of cars i guess..... i am comtemplating to switch back to manual cars.... and fast........ of course the looks wise.... wrx can't compare to m6 or camry..... Lawreo2002 Neutral Newbie February 10, 2004 Share February 10, 2004 oic just think of the comfort really ....SG roads not long enough for fast cars really stops every min for traffic lights .....i can beat a EVO anytime with smart driving because of the traffic
Zombie Neutral Newbie February 10, 2004 Author Share February 10, 2004 for me... just a tot.... comfort can come later.... you can't be ferrying your kids to primary school in a Evo.... so by then.... you will have comfort in mind....
Slayer Clutched February 10, 2004 Share February 10, 2004 I guess its not about racing. Racing should be on the track. agreed on the smart driving. and that apply to all drivers ,regardless of what car they drive. If he is looking for the kind of feel of driving powerful ride , I guess WRX is able to provide with that price. STI or EVO or BMW exceeds that price. i guess. of course Comfort wise, not much to expect. :-)
Slayer Clutched February 10, 2004 Share February 10, 2004 The clucth is quite heavy. Potentially can cause knee fatigue if stuck in traffic jam.

Wrxblue 1st Gear February 10, 2004 Share February 10, 2004 well in terms of price it is definitely a great deal...considering my V5 215HP is $148K 4yrs ago... furthermore now i think the insurance is slightly cheaper than last time. I heard its about 2+K only.....last time was like 3.5K and above well if you are craving for power and good and safe handler(4WD), at that price nothing come close. But if you want comfort(but the new ones are already so much comfortable than the previous models), low fuel consumption and maintenance..then you better look away.. In conclusion, if you like the shape and can afford the maintenance, then go for it. but again there is few other choices nowadays if you are not trying to find a car with raw power but with the looks and mortal maintenability. Probably the M6-2.3L is a good alternative, as it provides sufficient power and has the handling to compare with the REX. my opinion.....
Zombie Neutral Newbie February 10, 2004 Author Share February 10, 2004 yup.... if stuck at causeway jam.... worst.... it is heavy becos it is a heavy duty clutch????

Soya Supersonic February 10, 2004 Share February 10, 2004 $110k does sound tempting on the surface but dun forget the rex's OMV is only $21k. at $30k $$markup for a car wif onli 1 yr warranty, no test drive, basic features, i won't really call it value-for-money. if u want power n comfort, T4 lah! ↡ Advertisement
