Greetings,

Wishing everyone a happy CNY.

Had been asking around regarding the "mesh wire" type front grille but to no avail. [:/]

Can someone let me know where can I find it? I am attaching a picture to explain what I meant. [:p] Those that are pointed by the red arrows are the grille that I am looking for.

BTW, I am driving a 2001 Galant VRG.

Thanks in advance.

Hello, brudder.... Welcome to My Car Forum...

Me also driving a 2001 Galant VRG...... [sly]

So what colour is your car? Must meet up for kopi one of these days man!

For the wire mesh, either you change it into a VR4 bodykit, or you DIY it, by purchasing the wire mesh from the hardware stores......

Hope to see ya online more often....

Cheers

Hi !!

It's really nice to meet another Galantian here in MCF. [:)]

According to C&C's catalog, the colour of my car is "Trigger Mauve". However, according the vehicle log card, it is "Purple" in colour. [:p] How about yours?

Kopi is not a problem. And maybe you can share with me what you have done to your car.

I have no intention to change to a VR-4 bodykit and DIY is out as I am out of town most of the time.

Anyway, thanks for the response! [:)]

Regards.

Mine is a Black one......

Mine is stock, except with some little surgery here and there.

Well, how has your performance been? What about the fuel consumption and power specifically?

Most bodykit shops shld have that in stock. Eg. Boom Trading in Defu - look for Belinda.

If not, try Z3 or Z4 (cannot remember which) at Eunos (I think its Ave 7) in the industrial area next to the SIngapore Post Centre. They charge abt $80 to get wire mesh fixed up. Problem is that they need to cut your existing stock grille and put up the wire type. I didnt like the idea of cutting up my stock grilles - hence, I hunted for " whole set" type.

My car pics are at the CAR SHOWROOM in Mycarforum

Greetings,

Thanks for the response too! [;)]

Will checkout Boom Trading on Monday, if time permits.

Will give Z3 or Z4 a pass as I am also not keen to have my stock grille "cut". [:/]

Regards.

Cut up the original grille? [:/]

Yuks! [:(]

I did ask the bodykit shop in Outram before (beside Dynasty Audio) and the lady said the same - cut the grille and fix up a new mesh.... sounded like a messy job to me!

Greetings,

Went to AMK Autopoint, AMK AutoCare, Sin Ming, Defu and still did not manage to find the mesh wire grille. [:/][:/][:/]

Lye Design (as recommended by Turbobrick) told me that they don't have. Also checked with Creative Sports and they also told me they don't have one for Galant.

BTW, I did not manage to find Boom Trading in Defu. Fabiaman, care to share their address or telephone number? [;)]

Thanks and wish me luck.

Heard so much abt Lye Design, aint they just panel beaters? Panel beaters got do cosmetic mods meh?

Yes, Boom might have, they have quite a lot of stock.. only thing I heard is that they do not install as the sale girl told me - but I do occasionally see them installing spoilers... you better confirm with them.

Greetings,

Thanks again Turbobrick! [blush] Always have to trouble you [;)]

Maybe I don't drive a Volvo, that's why [:(] (Just kidding)

Maybe business is too good and they have no time for small deal like this (saw 2 WRXes waiting for plastic surgery).

Will try Boom Trading again tomorrow. Really want to settle this before going back to India (officially on MC now) [:(][:(][:(]

Regards.

Yes its at Defu Lane 10 as stated by Tbrick.

You might look out for the unit number since you cannot see the big words BOOM TRADING from the road that you are entering from. 2 sides to the building, when you enter, its a food canteen and drive further in, you will most likely see a electric blue WRX with golden rims (i think its owned by someone there) and there you go - Boom Trading.

Try to look for Belinda and tell her the guy who did the sunroof with his Fiat Uno last year and now driving a small Skoda recommended you (hopefully that helps). She is friendly - if she do not have what you need, suggest you ask whether she can import for you and if not, ask where can you find it.

Wish you luck! [;)]
