Too long to idle at ideal rpm.

What can I do?

1. Car takes too long to go down to idling rpm (personally prefer at 8rpm) ... like up to 10 minutes?

2. I have been driving <2rpm whenever I do a cold start in the morning ...

3. I only switched on my aircon and radio when it hits 1rpm at least.

4. Related to old age of car?

Its your ECU's setup. It goes into startup mode first to warm things up. Got sensors to determine how long. More fuel is pumped into the injectors so the burning is on the rich side.

Something like what the electric choke on the carburetor does.

It takes a long time ... at least for me, 10 to 15 minutes to settle it is far too long.

What can I do to the ECU and sensors then?

Hmm... It will be expensive to replace them. Better troubleshoot these items. Usually not the ECU's fault but these sensors.

For example in the case of the electric choke on a carb. Spring become weak or faulty but carb is OK. Same with yours. ECU nothing wrong. Sensors.
