Phalanx Neutral Newbie August 23, 2002 Share August 23, 2002 Where do you guys go to service your car's air-con? I mean, if you service your home air-con, that means the car needs one too right? Any recommendations? Especially those that are familiar with VAG cars. ↡ Advertisement

Hitman Neutral Newbie August 23, 2002 Share August 23, 2002 Just a stoopid question :- Just what do they do for car aircon servicing anyway - besides topping up aircon gas and cleaning the system ??
Pauly75ts Neutral Newbie August 23, 2002 Share August 23, 2002 "what do they do for car aircon servicing" Hi! there, Boobsie, Generally, chemically clean cooling coil, condenser, just don't get into contact with the cleaning agents. Check compressor oil/top-up oil, filter, re-vacuum system, re-fill gas. You might want to clean the area around the blower/cooling coil of dirt. Did I miss anything?? Alfpoon Clutched August 23, 2002 Share August 23, 2002 Hi Boobs, To be honest, I've never used the SPC place, just that it comes very highly recommended by my colleague, and some forumers. But I would believe it to be in the range of S$50 to S$80. Depending on any change of parts or not.
Turbobrick Neutral Newbie August 24, 2002 Share August 24, 2002 Boobsy, many forumers recommend the BP station opp the old Lakeview Hawker Centre along thomson road, good workmanship

Turbobrick Neutral Newbie August 24, 2002 Share August 24, 2002 I have another aircon shop at Tmn Sentosa JB, it's T&Y Aircon and it's located in the middle of a T-junction after two corners around THE STORE. They charge reasonably and skillz are impeccable. (can manage a Volvo 850 A/C, that's a tough job).
Bossman Neutral Newbie August 24, 2002 Share August 24, 2002 (edited) He is THE man.A good moderator must be knowledgeable in the forum he is moderating. There are many moderators in sg forum but they only know how to move threads, lock a thread etc.Look at HWZ, there are many examples.Imagine getting a 14 year old to moderate a Current Affairs forum. Now they make us pay $ 20 to entertain a 14 year old. Edited August 24, 2002 by Bossman

Bossman Neutral Newbie August 24, 2002 Share August 24, 2002 What do you mean tell me about it ? You never been to HWz ? It is the premier sg website..well at least used to be but know it is degenerating itself to become one of those paysites with no returns in terms of value. At least I do not mind paying to websites like AnandTech,Tomshardwareguide or Howstuffworks. At least they give you value. Most time ppl pay because they like the place, food or even website.People do not pay because they got nothing else or no other place to turn to.If this is what HWZ is trying to do, they better give more value to their website or get better moderators. Nobody wants a 14 year old to advise you on government policies or giving you life advice.
Hitman Neutral Newbie August 24, 2002 Share August 24, 2002 HAHAHAHAHA Actually, no i've never been there to that website. So I dun know the story. But even if I've been there, I won't pay a single dime. ↡ Advertisement
