Dear all,

Would like to check with u guys, i am currently comparing a few cars as i thought of changing my current car to a auto car.I am comparing these few models.Budget 75k

These are the models:

Toyota Altis

Toyota Vios

Kia Carens

Can u guys who are driving these cars give me a helping hand by givingme some feedback on the above models

I am also thinking of selling my current car, still looking for a right person or dealer to take in my car for a reasonable price, my current car is still pretty good conditioned just too bad its manual. As also i am also contradicting whether i should wait for april till the govt announce the new ruiling for cars or is it now a good time to buy a new car ?

Please Advise [gossip]

[:(] & [confused]

there's never realli a 'good time' to buy a new car when you're already owning one and need to trade in. buy low simply means trade in oso low. it's the changeover price that's more important.

as for car advise, forget all 3 and get a focus.thumbsup.gif

Hi,

If extra space is not what you need, then go for Altis.

Test driven the car and owned Corolla before, I would say it is a good car.

Long wait for the car though.

Are you married? Got kids? How do you use your current ride now? Give us more info so we can help you out.

IMO, Altis, ok, but Thai made. Test drive before, steering wheel not even centered. Vios, good car, peppy, good FC. Maybe too small for family with kids. Carens, Korea made. Low re-sale value. Quality questionable. Do you really need a MPV? How about Matrix then?

My initial budget was 75k. End up forking out 2k extract to get Focus.

will go Altis too. Vios too small with the amount u paid. Tested drive Carens before, although is big and cheap, the interior not very refine and engine quite loud noise....heard the FC is quite bad. Dun forget it's a 1.8, so road tax also higher...

hmm i wouldnt consider any of the abovementioned 3 models if i were buying, as the 2 toyotas look more like deformed cars while korean cars r a no-no for me. however, if i have 2 choose, then would go for vios as its the most decent looking car out of these 3. from a cosmetic point of view, can make some improvements to make it look nice also, unlike altis or g9 no matter how u mod still looks like a overweight hippo. in short, got potential. add to that the price is lower than altis too, even though both r made in thailand.

agreed too...too common on the road also, that's why rola was not in my lists.....my wif comments it's a 'Giodano' car...(everybody wearing one) :) and Matrix is "Bossini-car"

oops...no offend to corolla and matrix owners, i like both car and their performance, value for $$ are among the best. Afterall, the sales record prove all isn't it ?

There's an upcoming model for Focus in which the new Mazda 3 and Volvo S40 is based on.. but it will probably only be here towards the end of the year. IMHO, the current still looks better (based on pictures seen on net). According to some of the people who test drove the new Mazda 3, the handling is better than more 1.6 Jap cars, but not up to mark with the current Focus - so the question is does it mean the new Focus is a step back or simply just the Mazda 3? tongue.gif

btw.. i booked a Focus Hatch in the last round of bidding and will be getting it soon wink.gif
