Madarmour Neutral Newbie January 30, 2004 Share January 30, 2004 Actually, the blinding ones are 1. Those that retrofit HID without using proper lenses. 2. Those that don't position their low beams properly, be it normal halogens or 'white' halogens. 3. Those that think SG road is not bright enough and drives ard in high beam. White light in itself, if positioned properly, is not blinding.
Madarmour Neutral Newbie January 30, 2004 Share January 30, 2004 I think you can probably buy the whole headlamp assembly and plonk it in like BMWs Like I said, now the 156 has this option of fitting in the GTA HID headlamp assembly. You're right about the different reflectors and lenses in a factory HID assembly.
Madarmour Neutral Newbie January 30, 2004 Share January 30, 2004 fogs use a smaller bulb like HB3, I think... Different car has different bulbs. Your headlight is probably H4, while mine is H1 and H7.
Genie47 1st Gear January 30, 2004 Share January 30, 2004 About $120. But higher rating will cost more. Mine is a small car with a 45Ah battery. The alternator is slightly bigger. Installation is DIY. Just be measely and get greasy.
GDIzen Neutral Newbie January 30, 2004 Share January 30, 2004 Nope! Mine is same as yours with H7 for low beams and H1 for high beams. Dunno why its not H4 like all Jap cars...which is a blessing as I could re-use all bulbs from ex-ride..

Yttrium Neutral Newbie January 30, 2004 Share January 30, 2004 well, it should last abt 2 years.....less than 1 year is too short a lifespan... I was having some electrical problems towards the end of the life of that car... maybe that shortened the bulb's lifespan..
Saaber Neutral Newbie January 30, 2004 Share January 30, 2004 Oh, that could be the problem......if not HID lah...can last even longer ...
Yttrium Neutral Newbie January 30, 2004 Share January 30, 2004 (edited) The cost of just one side for HID can easily buy 10 pairs of halogen bulbs! Edited January 30, 2004 by Yttrium
Saaber Neutral Newbie January 30, 2004 Share January 30, 2004 I agree, so now hoping that HID light will become the industry norm and replaces all halogen...
