Greetings,

I can't agree more with what Sky mentioned. [:)]

A lot of times people go for the look and forget about quality and safety. [:/]

Wish you all the best in your rim hunting. [:)][:)]

In Malaysia, the smaller rims are made in bulk for their Kancils and Wiras generally so prices are kept low. Larger rims especially branded ones are imported and subjected to the Malaysian custom duties so are generally higher priced compared to SG wheel shops. For 16" and above, shop here better. [;)]

I know of someone who has changed his Civic VTi rim/tyres to 16" + Goodyear F1 ,set of 4 at $850. So with this comparsion, I think 14" rim + tyre at $600 is very expensive.

In fact, 14" rim in today stardard, nobody wants them anymore. Many original rims also 14" alloy. In 2 to 3 years time, when you change car, this 14" looks real dated by then.

Hope you can consider that extra $200 bucks for a 16" or at least a 15" rim.

Oh! U're running with 16s too! [laugh][laugh]

Well, Volvo have been using 4x108 and 5x108 since the early 90s on their FWDs so got nothing to do with Ford in the past. I only know that the early Ford Taurus are using 5x108, didn't know the Mondeo had the same.

Hi Blue850r,

I believe I'll go for 15" rim. I think the cost for the 4 X 15" Rim (RM or Advanti both made in Taiwan) & 4 X Bridgestone Grid 3 tyre(195) cost about $750. Don't know whether is it a good deal?

Try Leong Seng at UBI. Got my 15" RM rims(Taiwan) wif Yoko Aspec DB for $700. Traded in my six mths old stock rims/tyres!! Tyres are quiet and went up to 145 km/hr wif no problem whatsoever.

I got my custom made and ordered from Khai Wah although they gabra-ed and too 4months to deliver! Try RAY-S along Still Rd or Hurry Tire at Serene centre. They're willing to import for you.

Alternatively I'm gonna bring in a shipment from the US and if U like to you can place an order at www.tirerack.com (look for the Contour) and can ship to my freight forwarder in California to ship back. Should be around US$2-3 per kilo. 2 weeks turnaround after the shipment leaves the US. [;)]
