me using the Potenza G3.

IMHO, very good grip in both dry and wet roads. din experience any aquaplaning over puddles of water.

Road noise is a bit loud, but then my car is old, so road noise is kinda high on the agenda.

PG not so soon, i am waiting for my rear wheel extension stud to arrive from italy, hopefully in 2 weeks' time.

then get that fitted, re-bleed brakes and i will be ready for action!

if brakes still got problem, next project will be brake air ducts or water spray.

Yesterday was raining cats and dogs.....mondy using aspec DB...reali feels v.slippery and aquaplane quite a number of times [sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

any comments bro?

I've used Yokohama, GoodYear, and Continental in the last few years. And my 2 major accidents occurred when i was using yokohama 351Special and A300. Basically, the wheels locked up and the tires lost traction and i banged into the car in front. It never occurred again after i switched to goodyear/continental.

it aquaplaned badly in wet weather, and it skids on dry when I e-brake. I swore off yokohama forever!

[sweatdrop] i suppose bridgestone shld be good rite?cz i found out quite some japanese performance cars using bridgestone tyres..but heard dat the tyre compound is relatively soft...can provide traction but the tyre life wnt be long [thumbsup]

i was deciding between bridgestone G3 or Continental then. But heard that the G3 doesn't last long enough...thus i bought continental premium contact @ S$125 each. Its more expensive, but dry/wet traction is very good, and noise is good for the first year. Now that its 1 yr 3 months...its starting to get noisy.

premium contact was introduced in late 2002. if you got your after that, there's a slight chance that it is continental CPC.

CPC is designed for comfort. continental premium sports is the sporty version.

Been reading on pple perception of the Yoko dBs. Here is my 2cents worth of comment from a ex owner.

Dry performance is above my expectation. Have tried around 160kmh and still the tyre tracks well. Never deviating much from the chosen line. Braking in the dry is so so only. I would say average. It will stop...eventually but dun expect it to stop on a dime. Quietness was suppose to be its forte...but IMHO....nothing to shout about. Your car ain't gonna be converted into a Lexus LS430 by changing to these tyres...so if you looking for a Lexus quiet ride....start saving for the real thing.

I like the tyre for its handling. Side wall is soft and will flex quite badly if push hard. But what I like is the progressive handling. You push car and the grip will let go progressivly as you push it. What I do not like are those handling are like velcro grips.....got grip is good...but when they let go...better watch out !! power on oversteer is super fun...but do that on deserted road please as recovery takes almost forever.

That said is like driving like a mad man which most drivers will never even get to breach its performance. Driven normally, the tyre behave well enuff.

Wet....ehhh...enough said. It sucks BIG TIME. Braking takes forever to stop....ABS kicks in every time. Grip is like walking on wet marble floor.

That said....its a average tyre. If you can live with the short falls...its basically a quite ok tyre. Another advantage is that its damn long wearing....I used the set close to 2 years clocking around 40,000km on it before its almost botak.

If you are looking for wet performance...go for the SO2 or SO3 from Bridgestone. Excellent rubbers for the wet especially the SO2.
