I test drove both.

handling wise i feel m3 better.

pickup i feel altis wins

looks i feel m3 wins hands down.

but m3 is more noisy i feel. although thumbs up for catching on to the european fad of tiptronic gear.

as for other factors like resale value and petrol consumption, you have to weigh it yourself.

hehe, that one is for him to decide mah. [:p]

furthermore price also varies from time to time......i know m3 is a bit pricey now.......but that's because prices at launch usually higher.....so if he can time his buy when its low, then the altis won't have that price winning factor also.

patience, patience.

i am sure it will fall to that level unless coe rises dramatically.

all new products are usually more expensive in their early stage of product introduction to the market. novelty factor commands a premium too. in fact the price went up $1000 from 2 weeks ago as the response was good since its first arrival into singapore shores on 9th jan. bookings of 400+ units already made. these people mainly are those that buy on novelty and don't mind paying more.

wait for novelty to die off, i am sure it will come down near the price of lancer.....but seriously i would get the m3 over the lancer if it is $1-2k more.

yup yup. i agree wif u.

i noe abt the price increase oso, coz my friend was so pissed off tat he canceled his order bookings. his agreement was signed but they call and told him tat he need to pay 1k more, after some arguments, they offered him the original price, but my fren was so pissed off tat he decided not to buy M3, went for the new megane

i am sure it will fall to that level

History of the M6 and 323 have proven it beyond resonable doubt that the price will fall for sure .... especially once the hype is over and sales goes south nod.gifnod.gif

of coz the price will go dwn. the crowd has areadi get lesser as days go by. pass by the mazda showroom just now. not 1/4 as crowded as soft lauch period. also the SE is making calls to try to tell me to buy M3. i wonder which BM sales will do that now a days? even with m3, I dun accept mazda to do even 1/2 as well as nissan this year. i hate to admit but i think only BM has the arrogant of not dropping much prices. yeah i know what u mean. however i'm puzzled as to why those corolla buyers dont care abt the looks?? i mean no matter how good the car is, the aesthetics side also play a big part in first impressions mah. for me, i wouldnt even consider such a car, or any toyota for that matter, unless they send it to marie france bodyline!
