yup, engine plus a few other components, including spring and suspension too. G9 and Vios shares quite a bit of stuff. lots of parts come from japan, except for the assembly in Thailand.

Here is another tidbit. G7 1.3L XL Corollas share the same "E" engine series as the 1.0L Starlets.

 

The US Tercel also shares the same engine series as the two mentioned above.

 

1E engine = Starlet 1.0L

2E engine = G7 Corolla XL 1.3L and Europe and Japan's Starlet 1.3L

3E engine = US Tercel 1.5L

G7 Corolla GLi uses 4A-FE.

 

Levin/Trueno uses 4A-GE.

 

The F and G very big difference.

 

F cam angle is 22 deg for fuel economy.

 

G cam angle is 45 deg for power.

 

E stands for EFI

 

If you got 4A-GE 16V version, chances are can install SC to make it 4A-GZE.

 

Z stands for supercharged.

Corona used many different engines over the years.

 

Used 3TC, 20R and 22R (Both found in Celica)

 

I do not know the engine that is used on the Corona CD and GLi.

Yup, my Vios got the same engine as the 1.5XLI. And best part is that at launch, Vios will eat a 1.5 Corolla coz it's 100kg lighter than the Corolla

But I like the Corolla for its size, very comfy inside, more space than my Vios
